This is a very rare "big" screen screening of Andrzej Zulawski’s masterpiece ON THE SILVER GLOBE, possibly the greatest Astronauts-as-Jesus film you will ever see. It’s a film that has a 100% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes - and yet, by rights it shouldn’t exist. When filming was 80% complete, the Polish government ordered the production to be shut down and all the negatives be destroyed. Miraculously, the original film reels were preserved and, ten years later, the film was completed. Well, sort of…
